CAREER BACKGROUND:
After initially teaching secondary school Art and English, I returned to college for post-graduate early childhood education certification. I taught preschool classes for the Rochester Family Y and Rochester Art Center. I then worked as Program Director for the Rochester Playcenter (a parent cooperative preschool for children 12 months through 5 years of age) for five years. For the next fourteen years, I was director of education and referral for Child Care Resource and Referral in Rochester. Twelve years ago I began my current position as program lead instructor for the Child Development Program at Rochester Community and Technical College.

1975 Early Childhood Certification Program, University of Minnesota
1987 M.Ed. Adult Education, University of Minnesota
1988 to present - Additional post-graduate courses in child psychiatry, couseling, adult learning, and teaching with technology

PERSONAL NOTE:
I am a mother of three adult children and three (soon to be four) grandchildren. I thoroughly enjoy teaching. During the academic year I teach full-time at the college and also present training workshops at numerous conferences and workshops throughout SE Minnesota. For the past six years I have also managed IBM-funded child care improvement projects for Child Care Resource and Referral. In my leisure time I enjoy reading, nature, crossword puzzles, and spending lots of time playing with my grandchildren.
