CAREER BACKGROUND:
After initially teaching secondary school Art and English, I returned
to college for post-graduate early childhood education certification.
I taught preschool classes for the Rochester Family Y and Rochester
Art Center. I then worked as Program Director for the Rochester
Playcenter (a parent cooperative preschool for children 12 months
through 5 years of age) for five years. For the next fourteen years,
I was director of education and referral for Child Care Resource
and Referral in Rochester. Twelve years ago I began my current position
as program lead instructor for the Child Development Program at
Rochester Community and Technical College.

1988 to present - Additional post-graduate courses in child psychiatry,
couseling, adult learning, and teaching with technology
PERSONAL NOTE:
I am a mother of three adult children and three (soon to be four)
grandchildren. I thoroughly enjoy teaching. During the academic
year I teach full-time at the college and also present training
workshops at numerous conferences and workshops throughout SE Minnesota.
For the past six years I have also managed IBM-funded child care
improvement projects for Child Care Resource and Referral. In my
leisure time I enjoy reading, nature, crossword puzzles, and spending
lots of time playing with my grandchildren.
