CAREER BACKGROUND:
After working as a nanny, instructor of adult education classes, and family therapist in St. Paul, I became the director of the Professional Nanny Program at Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical in 1989. I taught child care and psychology courses and supervised the children's lab for thirteen years. I wrote the Professional Nanny Credential Exam for the International Nanny Association and gave the keynote address at their annual conference in 2002. Our Professional Nanny Program/Family Child Care Program was approved for online delivery in 2002.

1977: B.A. in English, Pomona College, Claremont, California
1982: M.S. in Psychology, Iowa State University

PERSONAL NOTE:
I have four children and a wonderfully supportive husband. We enjoy skiing, sailing, music, reading together. I have started a placement service called Heritage Child Care Specialists, LLC, for nannies and family child care providers who wish to care for children in exchange for college tuition, benefits, travel, salary and ongoing child care training.
