E-LECT partners with many agencies and organizations. We wish to recognize the agencies which support or collaborate with us.
Minnesota Department of Children Families and Learning awarded E-LECT a child care development fund grant enabling us to expand our work. (website: http://cfl.state.mn.us/mde/index.html) This grant helped us train faculty, develop new courses, and create this website.
E-LECT also received a small grant from the Minnesota Department of Children, Families, and Learning (website: http://cfl.state.mn.us/mde/index.html) to develop new on-line credit-based courses for professionals working in school-age programs. Through this project we are collaborated with the Minnesota School Age Care Alliance Program Improvement and Accreditation Grant, Concordia University’s School Age Mentoring Project, and Concordia University’s Professional Development Program.

Then Minnesota Association For The Education of Young Children graciously promoted E-LECT courses during our first year by posting the class schedule on their website. In addition one of the E-LECT member colleges offers on-line courses leading to an Advanced Certificate in Child Care Administration and the Minnesota Director’s Credential. This advanced training program utilizes a cohort model and the courses combine on-line learning with face-to-face sessions. For more information contact:

MLFCCA is professional organization of of licensed family child care providers serving children and family child care providers. Their mission is to support the highest standard of care for children in licensed family child care homes through education, resources, recognition, and advocacy; while acknowledging the diversity of licensed family child care providers.

T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education And Compensation Helps) Early Childhood® MINNESOTA seeks to improve education and compensation for child care providers, while reducing turnover rates.
TEACH is a scholarship program that helps child care providers earn a college degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. The scholarship pays for a large portion of college tuition and books and also provides assistance with transportation and substitution costs. Successful scholarship recipients also qualify for a pay raise or bonus upon completion of their scholarship contract. Centers and providers can use their participation in the TEACH program as a recruitment and advertising tool as well as market the reduced turnover rates and increased quality of their programs. Most critically, children benefit from caregivers who are specialists in early childhood education and understand the complexities of child development.
What does TEACH offer?
- TEACH offers scholarships to child care providers who want a CDA, an Associate's Degree, or a Bachelor's Degree.
- TEACH covers 85% of the CDA Assessment Fee, and up to 80% of the cost of tuition and books for Associate's and Bachelor's degree students seeking a degree in child development or early childhood education.
- TEACH also offers money for travel, release time, and a bonus (if applicable to the scholarship).
